Hi, friends! If you have been following me for a while on Instagram you may remember Mickey-shaped Moments. When I first started my Instagram account focused on Walt Disney World, I came up with the moniker after weeks of racking my brain. I loved it soooo much… it was cute and quirky and me. After being a self-proclaimed Disney adult and stay-at-home mom for years, I was finally taking the leap to become a travel agent and help other families get to Disney and the idea of people associating memories that were “mickey-shaped” with me lit my soul on fire.
Ultimately, my time at my previous agency came to and end rather quickly and in early March I left the agency with no CLUE what I was going to do next. I knew that I wanted to continue to be a part of the Instagram Disney community and figure out a way to continue helping Disney families. For a few months I thought I would build and sell Disney World planning resources as a way to keep my foot in the door of all things Disney.
It wasn’t until July of 2022 that I realized I truly missed planning Disney trips BUT that I could potentially make a real income for my family from it… and that’s when I decided I would open my own travel agency and get registered with Disney to sell travel. Simple Magic Travel Company was born. It was a whirlwind after that… within a day or so I had my best friend, Kayla, on-board to own and run the company with me. The rest is history… the company is growing and thriving and I am so grateful to be on this journey with her and our first round of agents who we have lovingly dubbed Original Agents.
Back to me and my identity in the Disney community… I (incorrectly) felt like Mickey-shaped Moments was tied to me as an agent with my old agency so I changed my Instagram handle to SimpleMagicSavannah. It didn’t feel like me and hasn’t felt like me. After some long discussions with Kayla about what 2023 looks like for me and all of the new things I will be working on and manifesting, she helped me realize that Mickey-shaped Moments is me. It has nothing to do with where I’ve worked or not worked, etc.
If you are still reading… thank you. I am so excited to be bringing Mickey-shaped Moments back and really focusing on curating a wonderful Moments community around Walt Disney World in 2023. As you can see, this includes a new blog (where you will get a new blog post every Thursday), my Instagram page, and now an email signup where you will receive life updates and exclusive content that I will not be sharing on the blog or Instagram.
